We all listen closely to last words. They carry such meaning and weight. These were the very last words that Jesus spoke to his disciples and to us: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” For hundreds of years in an effort to obey this command, the Church has sent missionaries all over the world to preach the Gospel. God’s emphasis on this command has not waned. In His eagerness to see us fulfill this great calling God has given us a new strategic way to reach the nations: God has brought the world to our doorstep.

 

Consider the following:

• People who are a part of the minority ethnic groups in our population are growing 600% faster than the population as a whole!
• For the first time in the history of the world there are representatives from every nation of the world now present in North America.
• Ethnic peoples are now a majority in 25 of the largest cities in North America, making up 61% of Chicago, 73% of New York, and 78% of Los Angeles.
• More Polish people now live in Chicago than in Warsaw, Poland.
• More Filipinos live in Los Angeles than in any other city of the world.
• The United States is the third largest Hispanic nation in the world and soon will replace Spain, currently in second place behind Mexico.

Many of these new immigrants arrive with a huge need: the need to learn English. It is the hope of DaySpring to assist them with this need and to share the life changing message of the Gospel through the ministry of our English as a Second Language (ESL) class.

What …When…and Where?

• Beginners through advanced classes are available.
• Registration is open all year.
• Classes are held September – December and January – April
• Classes meet Thursday evenings 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at DaySpring
• Classes are free, but books cost $25.

Volunteers are welcome. All training is provided.
