DaySpring will be holding a membership seminar this Friday (2/8) from 7-9pm and on Saturday (2/9) morning from 9am - noon at the Horrigans’ home.
From his e-mail, Pastor Mike says, “… Becoming a member of the church is required for at least two things that I can think of (1) voting at congregational meetings, which of course includes the election of elders that will serve, and (2) the baptism of your children.
… If you are unable to attend this seminar, can you still be a member? Yes. While attending a membership seminar is “highly recommended” it is not a requirement. …”
Please contact Mike or Kathleen Horrigan via phone, or e-mail the church office at the address on the web site. Hope to see you there! Child care is available. Call them for details.
My wife will be bringing her camera this Sunday (2/3/08) to take some pictures. We hope to get some good indoor photos to place on the web site. See you there!
We’ve been making some changes to DaySpring’s web site over the last week or so. Among those are updated graphics, new Blog, and new content. And, let me welcome David Bradsher to our website finally! (I just added his bio and picture) Dave began at DaySpring in the Summer of 2007. His presence and enthusiasm for the Lord have already made a difference in the lives of those in the community and at DaySpring. Welcome Dave!
My wife will be bringing her camera to one of our services in the near future so we can get some snapshots of DaySpring IN ACTION! I’ll post a few days before, so you’ll be ready for photo ops.
While praying this morning, I asked God how we could use this Blog to glorify Him. This afternoon, I thought, hmmm…, perhaps something we could do would be to create a category for short (or long if you choose) testimonies of what God is doing in your lives and in the lives of those whom “God has put in your path”. We might even go so far as to discuss how He has changed your life.
Over the last couple days, God has guided me into the world of Blogs. I look forward to seeing many of you discover this too.
Doug
Welcome Everyone!
Welcome to DaySpring’s new Blog. Perhaps you have heard about Blogs. The Blog is a tool that allows a community of people to share information in a dynamic way. The information is shared as a collection of posts and comments. If you have something new to share, just add a new post. If you have a comment on something that was posted by you or someone else, you may comment on it. Posts and comments may contain just about anything, text, links, pictures, etc. To post and comment on DaySpring’s Blog, you do need to register (under Options, select Register). This allows us to reduce web pollution (Spam) from automated programs known as Bots. Also, you’ll notice that your first post/comment will be moderated by us. This is also a means to reduce web pollution on our Blog, since some of those Bots are quite clever.
If some of this sounds like too much, don’t worry. Blogs are easy. Just register and start adding posts/comments. This Blog is for you. This Blog is for Jesus.
Peace,
Doug
